Welcome to the Parent Corner!

This page should answer most FAQ that we get about navigating the first few steps in your skating journey. If you don't find answer to your questions here, please feel free to email Stephen Baker, Skating Director at [email protected] or Sanju Chettiar, Office Manager at [email protected]
Seattle Skating Club has 2 rinks that we call home - Olympicview Arena (our training facility) and Lynnwood Ice Center! See below to find out various options both rinks offer.

Lynnwood Ice Center (LIC)

Public sessions
  • Everyone is welcome to skate!
  • Everyone who wants to go on the ice needs to pay online at the link below before getting on the ice.
  • The public session scheduled is available on the Lynnwood Ice Center website. To see the real time availability and to book your session, please click here.
  • Rental skates are not included in the ice fee, but available to rent for an additional fee.
  • Check in at the front desk before getting on ice. Follow the instruction
    sent to your email after you booked the ice time.
Public Session
Freestyle sessions
  •  Anyone who has a valid, current USFS or LTS USA membership can skate during this ice time.
  • LIC FS ice is run and monitored by the rink management and Live Barn.
  • Check real time availability, select your session or pay for drop in by clicking here. 
  • To purchase punch card (different from club ice punch card or OVA punch card) please click here.
  • Skaters need to have their own skates to skate on LIC FS ice. NO rental skates available.
  • Check in at the front desk before getting on ice. Follow the instruction sent to your email after you booked the ice.
  • It is recommended that skaters have passed Basic Skills 2 or Adult 2 to be on the ice, unless you are in a private lesson during that session.
  • Follow ice etiquettes taught to you by your coach.
  • Parents/Guardians, please stay in the bleachers or lobby and not near the glass, unless you are helping your skater get ready.
Free Style Session
learn to skate practice time
  • 30 minute independent practice ice time that is included in the registration fee for LTS class.
  • Only available for skaters registered for respective session.
  • Rental skates available, no extra cost.
  • This time is non-transferable & non changeable. No refund! No make up!
  • Parents/Guardians, please stay in the bleachers and not near the glass, unless you are helping your skater get ready.
  • Parents/Guardians, siblings or any other family members who are not registered for the session are not covered by liability insurance so they may not skate during LTS ice time.
LTS Practice Ice Time
Olympicview Arena (OVA)

club ice
  • Club ice times are discounted ice time at OVA only available for Seattle Skating Club members.
  • Only available on every Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:30 – 5:30 pm during the months of September through June at OVA.
  • Monitored by a volunteer Seattle Skating Club board member.
  • $12 cash or check at the front desk or buy Club Ice Punch Card under “Available Merchandise” (different from FS punch card for LIC or OVA) by login to your membership account here.
  • Skaters need to have their own skates to skate on club ice. NO rental skates available.
  • If you are registered for ADP class, Tuesday club ice is included in registration fee ONLY for the respective sessions you have registered for ADP class.
  • Check in at front desk with our volunteer.
  • Skaters need to have passed Basic Skills 2 or Adult 2 to be on the club ice, unless you are in a private lesson on that session.
  • Follow ice etiquettes taught to you by your private coach.
  • Parents/Guardians, please stay in the bleachers or lobby and not near the glass, unless you are helping your skater get ready.
Club Ice

Free Style Session
skills classes, ADP, boot camps, shows & more!
We also offer:
  • various on and off ice specialty "skills" classes (subject to vary based on season).
  • Day long "boot camp" intensives during holidays and school breaks.
  • A weekly advanced development program group class (aka "ADP") for skaters who have graduated from our Learn to Skate basic 1-6 program at Lynnwood.
  • Holiday show rehearsals and day of production!
